  • Balance sheet distributed
  • Over $8000 in pack account
  • Have spent $379 more than we have taken in as revenue this year
  • Doe snot include popcorn sales
  • No Scout Shop sales recently
Pack Night (Roland Garza)
  • Abbreviated agenda due to Turkey Calling and Bobcat Ceremony
  • Theme for November is "Pilgrims of Plymouth Rock"
  • Need to remind cub scout families to bring toys to December Pack Night meeting
  • "Pie-in-the-face" for popcorn sales to be done at December Pack Night
  • Turkey Call: best in each den, no winner "call-off"
Bobcat Ceremony (Vince Mezzano)
  • Need complete list of Bobcat candidates from dens
  • Need to remind people that this is a solemn event
  • Crowd viewing the ceremony usally stand, some of the boys sit on the pavement in the parking lot
  • Vince to arrange for firewood
Fall Campout (Sara McAllister)
  • Event well received by cub scout families
  • Layout of dens at the campground was scattered. Recommend being more organized next time and pre-assigning den locations.
  • Some scouts (and parents) were riding bicycles at dark at the campground.
  • Propose campout behavior sheet to be handed out before campout.
  • Cub scouts earned their conservation pin/belt loop except for camouflage requirement
  • Some cub scouts earned their flag football belt loop
Popcorn Sales (Seanette Meserole)
  • Pack sold $11,374 of popcorn
  • 23% of cub scouts did not sell any popcorn
  • 3 dens had 100% of the cub scouts sell popcorn
  • $7961 goes to SHAC, $3412 to Pack 1680
  • Recommend ice cream party to celebrate good sales
  • Lesson learned: Always collect money up-front. Don't accept partial orders/payments
  • Cub Scouts selling at least $100 of popcorn will receive a free ticket to the Houston Aeros on Jan 16
  • Popcorn delivery is Nov 14
  • Recommendation made to take early delivery/advance of popcorn next year and sell popcorn immediately to customers. Motion carried.

Magazine Collections (Roland)
  • Discussed continuation of magazine collections
  • Reece Nagai to deliver collected magazines to the Richmond State School
Pinewood Derby (Tom Cox)
  • Derby track received last week
  • All equipment has arrived and is in good condition
  • Next step is to paint (seal and varnish) the track, then test it
  • Still planning an "invitational" event to test equipment more thoroughly
  • Storage location of current track in the church (second floor) deemed adequate for storage of this track
Scout Hut Storage Improvements (Roland, Vince)
  • Killer Sharks to coordinate and align with earning an activity pin
Training (Kent McAllister)
  • Training:
  • Need people "cub scout trained"
  • YPT important for all parents
  • BALOO training scheduled for March 13
Church Schedule Conflicts (Kent McAllister)
  • Pinewood Derby has a schedule conflict with the basketball schedule
  • Bob Dimon from basketball league willing to help fund an alternate location for the Derby
  • Sunday, Jan 25 a possibility (3 PM)
  • Kent to review dates with the church
  • Blue & Gold also in conflict, moved to Mar 6
