1- Prologue

Hello and welcome to the exciting world of living in Ecuador. This site has been written for gap year volunteers, specifically in Riobamba. However, there is a lot of useful information in here on how to call someonr a cunt in Spanish, advice on places to get pissed, how to behave in a hostel and the like. My name is Paddy and I�ll be your host for this whirlwind tour of what Ecuador has to offer, and how to make the most of it. A couple of my mates will help me along the way with some random ramblings too.

I wish to God we had a little guide like this to help us out when we arrived here, cos� as you may have noticed, Lonely Planet is SHITE, hence the name (this was originally a book called "Lonely planet? Shmonely planet!"). So have a good one guys. I was only here for 6 months, so I haven�t been able to write about the whole country, but a lot of the big cities are listed in the "Ecuador" section.. But here�s what I reckon you need to know. Enjoy.
