I am descended in the following manner:
William T Cook (4 Jan 1810-13 Aug 1896) m. Emily Hall (14 Feb 1809-20 Feb 1905).
They are buried in Sanders Chapel ME Church Graveyard near Freemont in
Obion Co TN. According to the 1850 Marshall Co TN Census, they had 10
children, one of whom was Levi Munroe (10 Nov 1843-8 Apr 1924) m. Mary
Elizabeth Daugherty(18 Jul 1843-13 Jan 1915). They are buried in Cochran
Cemetery in Marshall Co TN.
They had two children (named for Mary's two brothers killed in the Civil
War) George W Cook and Basil Manley Cook. Basil Manley Cook (24 Aug 1867-13 Feb 1905) m. Octa Willis(1Jan 1869-8
May 1957).
They married 12 Oct 1890 in Marshall Co TN. They are also buried in
Cochran Cemetery. One of their sons was my father, Eugene Howard Cook(e)
b. 1904 (Yell,TN) d. 1979 (Nashville, TN).
Now, back to William T and Emily:
Her obituary in the 24 Feb 1905 Union City Commercial newspaper states,
in part,
"To this couple were born ten children, two daughters and eight sons,
five of whom survive as follows: J. M. and W. M., Obion County; Monroe,
Lewisburg, TN; Charles, Fort Worth, TX; and Dock, Trimble, TN"
I am in the process of discovering who the "JM and WM of Obion Co" are.
Also, I am trying to determine who "Dock, Trimble, TN" was.
Any help on that would be truly appreciated.
The main purpose of my research at this point is to try to find one or
more persons who are still living and are direct descendants of this
family defined in the 1905 obituary.
I have a good deal of research on the Cook family, beginning with William
T and Emily, but do not have verified proof behind him on the Cook line.
Let me know if this is of any value and also if you can identify "Dock of
Trimble, TN".
Thanks very much.

My Cooks left Dyer Co.  around 1812 to 14.  He was in the New Madrid earthquake, lost everything and moved to Arkansas County, Ark.  My great, great grandfather was  born in Tenn in 1811.  The only way I would know if I'm kin to any of the Cooks still there to trace them back to 1811 to see if they cross with my family there.  Harvey Cook
