Stephen D. COOK was born c1895 in that part of NC that became TN in 1896.  My first record of him is in Hopkins Co. KY 1816 (he may have been there earlier and came of age in that year). Robert COOK and Jesse COOK first appeared on the Hopkins Co. tax list a year earlier in 1815 it is unknown if they have a relationship to Stephen. Jesse COOK married Susannah ROLLS in 1815. Neither Robert or Jesse are on the 1820 Hopkins Co. census or tax lists in following years.

Stephen COOK married Malinda MONTGOMERY in 1820 dau of John MONTGOMERY and Mary Oldham THOMAS.

The family farmed and lived on Owens Creek near the Tradewater River south of Providence KY. Stephen D. COOK died in 1835.

This family lived first in Clay, Webster Co. where G. W. was a school teacher c1870 they moved to Union Co. where he was Deputy Clerk. About 1880 they are reported to have moved to St. Louis but they have not been found there.
