Dear Little Heart
I
got your letter this
a.m. but not in
time to answer
today. Tell Aunt
Annie that she
can send for me
tomorrow even-
ing. I could not
tell until today
whether I could
get off or not
How are you
& the baby. Well
Love I have

(end page one)

to quit & go to bed.
With love to my
boy & girl.

Lovingly,
Crumps

(Cousin Pat's note: The baby is my father, William Cromartie Currie, Jr., (5/20/1908 - 4/6/1993). "Aunt Annie" is our Annie E. Currie, (12/1/1860 - 7/20/1951). She would have been 48 years old when this letter was written; my father would have been one year old in 6 more days. It's gratifying to know that our Hester Ann Selser Richards Currie, (2/2/1820 - 6/10/1909) lived to see her great grandson carry on the name of her husband, William Cromartie Currie, (6/17/1810 - 10/2/1876). Imagine the incredible life she must have lived in her 89 years; the joys and sorrows of it all!)
