The Lone Cypress

This is the symbol of Pebble Beach, the Lone Cypress.  This was taken right before sunset with my friend Steph as we drove through en route to Berkeley.  I accompanied her as we drove from LA to the Bay to help her get settled in before she started her classes at UC Berkeley.  We drove down the Pacific Coast Highway and other stops in the trip included Santa Barbara, Solvang, San Simeon and Carmel.  The tree actually stands by its lonesome on a piece of rock, and has survived there for dozens of years.  It has been known to be one of the most photographed trees in the world.
