The Sharp Corporation no longer produces its finest
Wizard Organizer, the OZ-770 (or any of the excellent
OZ-700 series). It is becoming increasingly difficult
to find a replacement for your worn-out OZ-770. The
cost for a new one is now about $200 on EBay (as of
February, 2004).
As I searched for a replacement for my trusty OZ-770
I stumbled over the Windows-CE H/PC's (Handheld PC's).
NEC still produces a new Mobile Pro, however all the
other models, like the OZ-770, are out of production.
However, they are readily available at reasonable
prices. I found my Philips Velo 500 on EBay for less
that $40, including shipping cost.
Here is a photo of what I found when I opened the
parcel, which was delivered to me by UPS.
From top to bottom/left to right, you will see the
Velo 500 Manual, a card stock "quick start" sheet, a
Windows-CE Manual, a Philips Velo Accessory catalog,
Velo Software cd, Windows-CE cd, the Velo 500 H/PC,
a NiMH battery pack, a phone cord, an AC power supply,
a serial/parallel adapter, and the Velo dock with serial
cable. Everything came in its original box. The cost
when
new would have been in the $600 range.
