Customs Division encompasses 2 branches :-

Import/Export Branch
- Industries Branch
Import / Export Branch
This branch encompasses 5 main components of import and export activities and other activities related to import export. The main components are as follows:-
i.Ipoh Cargo Terminal
Ipoh Cargo Terminal (ICT) is an Inland Clearance Depot licensed under Section 65E Customs Act 1967. This terminal provides custom clearance facilities for containers imported / exported by rail or road.
ii. Ipoh Customs Warehouse
Provides facilities under Section 63 of the Customs Act 1967 but currently used to clear air cargo goods from customs stations at the Ipoh Airport, Sepang Airport and Bayan Lepas Airport.
Clearance of goods removed from free zones and licensed public warehouses are also done at this warehouse.
iii. Sultan Azlan Shah Airport, Ipoh.
Provides clearance of import / export air cargo and passengers.
iv. Licensed Public Warehouse and Licensed Private Warehouse, Ipoh.
Provides facilities to warehouses for goods imported / exported under Section 65 Customs Act 1967.
v. Ipoh Post Office
Provides custom clearance for postal packages. The customs post office unit was opened for operation beginning May 2nd 1997. It was previously closed from 1.10.95 until 30.4.97 at the request of Pos Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
Industries Branch
The Industries Branch has 45 officers and employees headed by an Assistant Director of Customs.

Branch Activities
The activities performed by this branch are as follows:-
- Import activities and collection of import duty and import sales tax.
- Export activities and collection of export duty.
- Movement of goods from ICT, Ipoh Airport and Public & Private Licensed Warehouse to another customs station or customs control unit or vice-versa.
- Transportation of goods activities within Malaysia that is between Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah / Sarawak.
- To control Licensed Manufacturer Warehouse licences under Section 65 / 65A Customs Act 1967.
To process facility application and drawback refunds under Section 99 Customs Act 1967.
- To control movement of goods at the Kinta and Jelapang Free Trade Zone.
- To process application to use locked van / boxes.
