A BIT ABOUT MY FAMILY:

We grew up in Dublin, Eire. My dad, Bartholomew (Bart) is a Dubliner and is now retired and lives with my brother Desmond. My mom, Julie (née Mahony) was born in Galway and sadly passed away in December, 1994. We all miss her acutely. I am the eldest of three children. My brother, Desmond is 42 and my sister Sarah is 38. Sarah married in 1995 to Dr David Campbell. They live in Lewes, East Sussex and have recently added a third baby boy called Charles to their existing son James, three and Lily, six. Sarah plans to return to work on a part time basis in 2004.

I do not have a current photo of my brother Desmond. He struggles with schizophrenia and learning difficulties so does not have an easy lot in life. He has a very warm, trusting and generous nature and calls a spade a spade. It is quite tragic that he has to struggle with such profound afflictions. He is currently in hospital in Blanchardstown, experiencing a lengthy psychotic episode where he is haunted by disturbing hallucinations and paranoid ideation.

A separate page is devoted, by way of tribute to mom who passed away in December, 1994.

DAD - Bartholomew Ball.

My dad has just recently had a hip replacement operation and this has put an end to his annual stint as 'Santa Claus' in Arnott's department store. He has done this every year since retirement and loves the contact with children which this brings. As 'Santa Claus' he has also featured on TV to press the button for the Irish National Lottery!! Dad previously worked in the stock-broking business and was also the religious leader for the Mormons in Ireland for some years. Dad is a generous man, intelligent and compassionate. We have our differences but I am immensely proud of him.

THE 'REAL' SANTA, AS SEEN AT ARNOTTS, DUBLIN:

AND, AS FEATURED IN MANY MAGAZINES AND NEWSPAPERS:

SISTER - Sarah Ball Campbell

Sarah is the light of my life. We've been close since childhood. She is beautiful in every respect, thoughtful, gentle, humouristic, bright. I couldn't have asked for a better sister. I don't know how she manages to look after three young children and manage a home and husband while still looking gorgeous!!

DAVID - Sarah's husband, my brother-in-law

David, my brother-in-law, is a great guy. He's very modest despite being extremely bright. He always seems to remain calm no matter how stressful things get. Currently working in Brighton as a Consultant Anaesthetist, specialising in paediatrics. David loves rugby, surfing, really awful music (!), computing and more besides.
