WELCOME TO MY HOME PAGE..

Hi There,

My Name is Pinky Pandalam, 25 years old. I am presently working in Kuwait as Computer Networking Engineer

Yes, I am an Indian, a proud one at that. I hail from Kerala - a land of rivers, coconuts, spices, percussion instruments, bananas and cool landscapes and people who want to have a say in everything that they are involved in. Participation 100% is our way!

My Hobbies

I have and had many hobbies. Only my interests in literature have stood the test of time so far.
My interest in literature can be traced to all those stories from Indian epics my Grandfather used to tell little Pinky. Later when I could read I read "Amarchithra Katha", (Abridged, illustrated versions of stories from Indian epics and history. I am, and I guess a whole generation of Indians is, grateful to Anantha Pai for publishing them.) "Poombata" and "Balarama" (children's magazines in Malayalam)
Uhm..., probably I need to tell you what does this word "Malayalam" means. This is a language spoken by about 2% of India's population!! The people of Kerala, a southern state of India, speak Malayalam. I speak Malayalam very well because I belong to Kerala. The language has its own script and has a well advanced literary movement.

Later (age 10-15years) I read many "ma" publications in Malayalam!! "ma" publications are weekly magazines in Malayalam. They are so called because most of them have their names starting with "ma" like "Malayala Manorama", "Mangalam" Manorajyam etc. Contents typically include sensationalized reports of murders and more than ten "pulp" or "two-penny" serialized novels. These magazines usually have novels aimed at what the Indian politician call the "vote banks". So you will find "Muslim novel", "gulf novel", "Kudiyetta novel", "Manthra vada novel" etc in these publications. Hardly anything on human beings!
