{rollFollowing the experiences in Russian armour design during the WWII, and with some aspects similar to the Josif Stalin 3, IS-III, The T-54 MBT is the first post WWII russian design, completed in 1946, and built in 1947.China (Type 59), Poland, and former Czechoslovakia built it in vast numbers too. Far more tan 50000 T-54 were built during almost 40 years, until 1981, a world record. Soon followed the T-55, with the same 100 mm gun. Egyptian vehicles were seen with a L7 105 mm rifled tank gun. Such a widespread vehicle has been modified too many times to quote it here.
