Air Pistol has become very popular both in Australia and overseas. The air pistol match consists of 60 shots fired in 105 mins for men and 40 shots fired in 75 mins for women. The target used is a scaled down Precision target set at 10m. In matches one shot per card is fired but at club competitions up to 5 shots per card is the norm to save on target costs. The modern air pistol is extremely accurate and at 10m it will fire pellets consistently into a group only fractionally larger than the pellet diameter. Pellets are a skirt wadcutter style called diabolo.
