Shell: Fine teeth, pyriform shape, aperture curved more sharply posteriorly.
Animal: Mantle is jet black, smooth, siphon is also black fringed with closely spaced long, slender, black, tapering processes. Papillae are of a single type, widely spaced, long, fingerlike with rounded tips. They do not taper, but flare slightly at the base.
Region: Eastern Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
Habitat: One to four or more meters under coral.
Notes: Similar to talpa . Fairly common some years ago.
