Shell: Rather cylindrical with short, fine teeth. Fawn-grey with more or less profuse, interrupted, black, longitudinal lines.=; orange red tips and spire; white base.
Animal: Animal is velvety jet black, mantle is thick completely obscuring the dorsal pattern. It bears tiny knob like papillae. The siphon is smooth, tentacles atpered and blunt, the siphon edge is smooth. The foot edge is black, the crawling surface light grey to brown.
Region: Indo-Pacific
Habitat: Larger shells in shallow water, regular shells on wave benches at low tide at night, in deep water you find the small, immature specimins.
Notes: The cluster of egg capsules is about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, the capsules resemble little yellow footballs standing on end and are 3 x 1 mm, observed to hatch after 14 days.
