Shell: A stocky, humpbacked cowrie, pink-brown spots and dorsal line on deep mahogany color. A "mourning" band of bluish black around the lower sides extends to cover the base. Curved aperture, strong, dark-brown teeth with white between. Inside edge of canal pale, rich dark brown to black thickened margin.
Animal: Animal is black, mantle is thin and does not obscure dorsal markings.
Region: Indo-Pacific.
Habitat: Under rocks.
Notes: The teeth of this shell are more numerous on the outer lip than on the opposite, columellar lip.
