In the Pokémon Colosseum's battle mode, trainers will be able to battle against each other in a fashion very similar to that of the old Pokémon Stadium games. Of course, all the new features (such as double battles), attacks and pokémon will be allowed, as will some of the old ones from Johto.

If trainers connect their gameboy, their pokémon will come with them to the Pokémon Colosseum, as apparently will Birch's child.

In the Pokémon Colosseum, Pokémon look slightly differently due to the lighting of the new region it's in. The colosseum also differs from the stadium in the fact that the public is closer up to the battlers, so they're easier to distinguish by them. The opponents can also see each-other with greater ease due to their greater proximity.

In the following gallery of images (most of which focus specifically on one pokémon) these features can be noticed.
