Berries are special fruit that pokémon eat to become healthier. The
first berries were discovered in Johto and they basically healed
status problems so they were called things like "Psn Cure
Berry" and their seeds then spread to Kanto. |

| In Hoenn, many more different types of berries exist of multiple
flavors and some which can only be used for making pokéblocks. Each
berry has a unique flavor which the pokémon, depending on its
personality, may like or dislike.
