When the special
Japanese anime Raikou episode came out in Japan, the
characters shown to the left were called Kenta, (the main character
of Pokémon Gold and Silver,) Marina, (the female protagonist of
Pokémon Crystal,) and Jun'ichi.
However, later in the anime, when Ash Ketchum of Pallet
Town was in the Johto League, he found Jun'ichi who was called
Jackson in English. In the following phone call to Professor Elm,
they mentioned Kenta and Marina, whose names in English are Yoshi
and Dani. |

| Suddenly, Ash
notices Jackson, talking with Elm on a nearby phone! … They
shake hands, and Elm recognizes him too. Then, Ash asks Jackson
how he knows [Professor] Elm, and he explains that Elm gave him
Chikorita, his very first pokémon… Then, Elm asks how Dani and
Yoshi are doing. Jackson says that Dani is OK, although he hasn't
spoken to Yoshi in a while… |
