Misty used to lead the Cerulean Gym with her three older sisters, but left to join Ash's group on his quest because, says she, Ash has never paid her for the bike his Pikachu destroyed when they first met the notorious members of Team Rocket, Jessie & James.

However, some rumor that there's more between Ash and Misty than just a debt. Though she usually treats him like an idiot, she really seems to like him, even if it's just as a very close friend.

Misty dreams of becoming the world's best Water-Type Pokémon Trainer.
