Firmitas in Cielo

              CLAN MCNAMARA

Seafarers, farmers, musicians, politicians..the range is as various as the colours of green in the Isle from which they arrived.
Our ancestor David McNamara left Ireland as a lad of fourteen years or so to the area around Boston , Massachusetts.  An adventurer, he made his way to the wilds of Nova Scotia , Canada, to marry and raise a large family on an island now named for him and on which he is buried.
Nothing is known of his life before America, only tales that can grip the imagination, of a political nature that they are.
So we will carry on searching for those roots in the Emerald Isle and meanwhile follow his steps from Crossroads Country Harbour, Nova Scotia to present day. Perhaps we will reveal some facts previously unknown and increase the family to proportions of which it never dreamed.
