"The Rosary is my favorite
prayer. A marvelous prayer! Marvelous in its simplicity and in its
depth. . .
Against the background of the words
"Hail Mary" there pass before the eyes of the soul the
main episodes in the life of Jesus Christ. They are composed
altogether of the Joyful, Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries, and
they put us in living communion with Jesus through -- we could say
-- His Mother's heart.
At the same time our heart can
enclose in these decades of the Rosary all the facts that make up
the life of the individual, the family, the nation, the Church, and
all humankind. They include personal matters and those of our
neighbor, and particularly those who are closest to us. Thus in the
simple prayer of the Rosary beats the rhythm of human life." ~POPE
JOHN PAUL II
Our Lady has 117 titles. She selected
this title at Fatima: "I am the Lady of the Rosary."
St. Francis de Sales said the
greatest method of praying is - Pray the Rosary.
St. Thomas Aquinas preached 40
straight days in Rome, Italy on just the Hail Mary.
St. John Vianney, patron of priests,
was seldom seen without a rosary in hand.
"The rosary is the scourge of
the devil" - Pope Adrian VI.
"The rosary is a treasure of
graces" - Pope Paul V.
Padre
Pio, the stigmatic priest,
said "The Rosary is THE WEAPON."
Pope Leo XIII wrote 9 encyclicals on
the rosary.
Pope John XXIII spoke 38 times about
Our Lady and the Rosary. He prayed 15 decades daily.
St. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort
wrote: "The rosary is the most powerful weapon to touch the
Heart of Jesus, Our Redeemer, who loves His Mother."
If you wish to obtain a favor - Pray
the "54 day Rosary Novena." Pray 3 nine-day rosary
novenas - 27 days of petition; Pray 3 nine-day rosary novenas - 27
days of thanksgiving.
Will you give 1% of 1440 minutes each
day to God? If so, pray the daily rosary in 15 minutes - 1% of 24
hours. Later on, give 3% and pray the entire 15 decade rosary -
Joyful, Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries.
Sr. Lucia dos Santos, is known to
many. For she was one of the three visionaries of Fatima. She was
only a child when she first beheld the Blessed Mother. She has seen
her throughout her life in many apparitions in which thousands have
attended. Here is one of her messages concerning the Holy Rosary:
"The Most Holy Virgin in these
last times in which we live has given a new efficacy to the
recitation of the Rosary to such an extent that there is no
problem, no matter how difficult it is, whether temporal or above
all spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our
families...that cannot be solved by the Rosary. There is no
problem, I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot
resolve by the prayer of the Holy Rosary." ~ Sister Lucia dos
Santos
"St. Paul of the Cross used the
Holy Rosary to free soldiers from the evil of the devil. In one
instance a soldier was in his quarters when the devil started
dragging him around. The saint, who heard the noises and ran to
investigate, immediately detected the devil and ordered him to
leave, while placing the holy rosary around the soldier's neck. The
soldier confessed his sins that night and was enormously grateful
for being delivered."
"Sr. Josefa Menendez (1890-1923)
once saw a demon standing in front of her to prevent her passing,
and he even tried to throw himself upon her. Although thoroughly
frightened, Sr. Josefa held up her rosary stretched out before her
and went her way."
"Pere Lamy (1885-1931) was often
granted many visions of the Blessed Mother, many saints and angels,
and even the devil himself. We know that the Blessed Virgin is
mistress over the devil and that, 'He hates the priests, the
representatives of Jesus Christ.' The devil once told Pere Lamy,
'Give up praying and I will give up bothering you.' The good priest
also tells us that the recitation of the Holy Rosary is what 'knocks
Lucifer flat.' He is the sworn enemy of the rosary. That is why many
saints have told us to recite the rosary often and to carry it with
us." (All from Angels & Devils by Cruz)
