What to Prepare for Campus Interviews? |
Hi Guys!
As many of you have started asking as "How to prepare for the Campus and
which books to study?" I thought to list out some of the books. Hope you
will find this informative.
Errors and Spelling mistakes may be excused.
Subject: C
1) Exploring C (Yashavant Kanetkar)
2) Test your C Skills
3) C under Dos Test
4) C by Brian W. Kernighan and Dennis M. Ritchie (K & R)
5) Let us C
Books 1,2,3 are for written test. These books contain multiple-choice
questions. You need to buy the Book no: 1 and revise it for at least 4 times and
you may just scan through books 2 and 3. Book no 4 is for fundamentals and
concepts in C. The programs at the end of the chapters in books 4 & 5 should
be practiced. You may be asked to write very small programs in the personal
interview. Don't get moved away by your desire to try some of the hard and good
programs. If you do, you are just wasting your time. Not less precious than
anything, we think, we have. Right? AGREE!! Brilliant.
Subject: C++
1) Teach Yourself C++ (Herbert Schildt)
2) Object Oriented... (E Balagurusamy)
3) Complete Reference C++ (Herbert Schildt)

tool to test how good you are at your concepts. You should have this one.
Subject: Computer Networks
1) CN (Andrew S. Tanenbaum)
2) TCP/IP (Douglas E. Comer)
3) Unix Network Programming (W. Richard Stevens)

Book 1 is essential for concepts. You have to study chapters at least up to 9 in Galvin. Book 2 is for reference. If you have enough time, go for this for more concepts. It is good to have knowledge of a specific operating system such as Windows, Linux or Unix. Do not go for a very hifi book. The chapters at the of the book 1 is sufficient. Though learning English is a continuous process like every other subject, book 1 will give you a very good launch towards your success. Revise it for at least 2 times. The second revision will not take more than 8 hours. Believe me!
Subject: Written Test
1) Objective Arithmetic (R.S. Aggarwal)
2) GRE (Baron - 12 or 14 Editions)
