Paul's Guide to Puerto Iguazu Life and Love

Dec 26, 2015

Riding my bike down Aguire street towards the 3 Fronteras today I noticed this little plaza. It had some interesting art on the walls.

Across the street I noticed this small, hidden statue in a glass case

Here are some photocopies next to it...

The part under the picture says something like "Attention - Pray for 3 days and make 25 copies and leave them at the feet of Saint Expedito for his help and outreach.

Watch what happens on the fourth day.His grace will reach the most difficult that can be.

As I was there a lady came up to pray...

Walking around behind the little man I found this slide on the ground...

and noticed there once had been a children's playground there, but as you can see the swings are now missing and no one has been cutting the grass..or maybe the grass is so high it is covering the swings... I didn't walk back to check.

Then I noticed all these chains whih I can't explain, but look almost like someone's art project.

This also looked a bit like art

Later I decided to try to find what someone calls the Orchidiario of the Solitary Indian. I had seen the sign once before but that day I was walking and didn't want to walk down the long road.

This pic is from the net, btw. Doesn't it look inviting?

I heard that it was a long way from the main road and not worth visiting, but since I had my bike today I decided to ride down the street to have a look for myself. I actually never found it, but I found something which I think was similar. I think the Orchidiario del IS is really just another greenhouse selling flowers. So the sign seems pretty misleading if that is the case. Anyhow this is what I did find.

I thought it was the O del IS... until I asked the lady why she called it the Orchidiario of the Solitary Indian. Then she said that it was another place, not her place. Then when I left I noticed this sign...

Anyhow, I just found this video... It seems more interesting than the place I saw so maybe another day I will make it there!

I posted this on Dec 28 - My friend Radovan's birthday.

----

Update -

I usually don't say "Happy Birthday" to people. Instead I ask them how their day is going, or how they are feeling. Here is what I wrote to my friend Radovan the morning after his bday...

-- How did your day go yesterday? How did you feel at the end of the day?

I believe it helps us feel important, cared about, acknowledged when someone lets us know that they know it is our birthday. And I believe it helps us even more when they ask us about how we are feeling or how we felt --- and then they really listen to what we say.
