My Tribute to Tesla, California
Tesla Area Photos 2
Here are some more photos of the Tesla area.  As before, the pictures here are reduced and may be clicked on to see their full size.  You will need to hit your browser's "
back" button however to return to the photo pages.  I hope you enjoy the pictures.  They may take a while to load so please be patient.  Also, if anyone viewing these pages can provide me with better details of any of the photos, please e-mail the info to me at [email protected]
Looking toward the East to the mine area from the southern slope above Frytown and Hogback Hill.
This is a shot taken from the creekbed at the tip of Hogback Hill.  Over the far rise is Jimtown.
This one is from the creekbed at the Northwestern tip of Hogback Hill in the valley beyond Tesla.
On the upper part of Hogback Hill, looking toward it's tip.  I believe it is sage brush growing on the West side.
This is the "pretty little valley" beyond Tesla on the other side of Hogback Hill.
Also the "Pretty little valley" beyond Tesla, only this is earlier in the springtime or late winter.
This one is the same as the last only it is a vertical shot so I could get more sky in the picture.
This sinkhole is probably due to some section of the old mine collapsing.  It is above Treadwell row if memory serves.
This is the hillside where the main tunnel used to be.  It is all collapsed now but a small coal seam shows and there are many interesting mineral specimens lying about the area.
And this is where tunnel number 3 used to be.  It too is collapsed.  I am not sure if this shack is recent or a remnant of the town.
This is a view of the old sand bunker and the existing mine and chute above it.
And then there is me, standing in front of the old mine.  I love to visit the bats and cave rats inside.
I hope you are enjoying the album so far.  Please remember to e-mail me if you have any information to better describe any of the pictures you see or if you find any errors on the pages.  I would really appreciate it.  The next page will focus on some of the local plantlife which I have photographed while visiting this beautiful part of Corral Hollow Canyon.
To sign my guestbook please
I would love to hear from you.
