Known by middle name, John.
Imigrated to the US in 1810. Arrived on a boat from Ireland Captained by his wife’s brother, Capt. John Roninson. Was drafted into the military, and fought in the War of 1812. Lived in Blackrock Ontario, Canada, then imigrated to the US in 1865 to Bridgehampton Township, Sanillac County, Michigan.
"John’s parents were of Irish and English births respectivley. They had 7 boys and
3 girls. They were store keepers. John was the eldest of the family.
He came to America when he was 19 years old, joined a Pennsylvania
Regiment, went through the War of 1812. When he was discharged he went
to work in a factory in Philadelphia, went from there to Fort Erie in
the year of 1814 or 15, was married to his first wife in 1815 or 16 who
was Susan Zevits. To this union there was 6 children,

His second wife was Sarah McMurrie. They were married about 1829 or 30
and they had 6 children, 2 which lived. They were John who was married
in Minnesota at White Cloud.
Elizabeth who was lost in an Indian massacre at White Cloud, Minnesota.
His third wife was Elizabeth Colter. To their union there were 14
children, 10 of them which lived. They were -

he was 48 years old, she was 16 at the time of this marriage. John
Nichol educated to enter the Presbyterian Ministry. He died in Sept.
1877 in Bridgehampton Twp., Sanilac Co, Mich given age 89. His third
wife died 1909 age 96.
Her father was Robert Colter. He came from Ireland. Her mother was
Martha Livingstone. They were Irish of Scotch birth.""
