Yang Guo asks Xiao Long Nuu (Dragon Girl) if anyone, aside from them and their founder, knows about Maiden's Sutra. Long tells him that her senior kung fu disciple sister, Li Mo Chou (Serpent Deity) does but their master has expelled her when she refused to take the vow of never leaving the tomb. Yang Guo then asks her if she is better than Li and Long says that her kung fu sister has more advanced skills for their master has favored her. (NOTE: Her master had died before Xiao Long Nuu could completely refine her kung fu. It was Grandma Sun who, though not formally trained, helped her in her training.) Afterwards, Long explains to Yang Guo the three steps to master Maiden's Sutra.

     First,
Long would teach him all the basic techniques of Ancient Tomb Sect (Gumu Bai). After he masters the sect's kung fu, he would now move on to the martial arts of All True Sect (Quan Zhen). Once he understands the Taoist philosophy, his transition to Maiden's Sutra, the black star of All True Sect, would now be easier.

Long brings Yang Guo to the next room, which, like the other room, is filled with old markings. She tells him that it is the room where the All True Sect founder, Wong Chong Yang, had trained and that the scripts are the key to learning the sect's kung fu. But the symbols are difficult to understand and that is why Long has not yet completed learning their style. Looking at the scripts, Yang Guo suddenly recalls the lines in a book that his former teacher, Zhao Zhi Jing, had forced him to memorize. As he says the words aloud, Long discovers that they add meaning to Wong's symbols. And  with this new developement, Yang Guo and Long begin their training. Long teaches Yang Guo all that she knows about Ancient Tomb Sect. Afterwards, they jointly learn the kung of All True Sect.

     Two years pass by and
Yang Guo is now in his sixteenth spring. He has inherited his father's good looks and his quick intelligence. And because of his natural gift, Yang Guo's kung fu has also improved dramatically. Long thinks that it is now time for them to move on to the basic sword style of Maiden's Sutra. She and Yang Guo practice sparring for several weeks until they both perfect their skills.
