Loren Leigh "Jimmy" Beardsley was a native of Athens, Pa. Jimmy was well loved by his friends and neighbors. As a child he had been a paperboy.
He had joined the Navy in 1939, and was sent to Pearl Harbor. He was one of the thousands killed aboard the USS Helena during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941.
