Biography

Norman Thomas "Tommy" Mason was born March 8, 1921 to Luther and Wilma Mason of Corinth, Kentucky. Tommy entered the Army August 27, 1942 at the age of 21 years old. Tommy served in the Army Medical Corps 36th General Hospital. He served in North Africa, Italy, France, Normandy invasion, Belgium and Germany. He earned 5 battle stars during this time frame. He took care of wounded soldiers in the hospital and picked up wounded soldier in the line of battle.

After returning home from service in 1945, he married Joyce Simpson and moved to Norwood, Ohio. Tommy and Joyce were charter members of New Bethel Baptist Church, Norwood, Ohio. Tommy and Joyce had two children, Donna (Boerger) and Dale, along with two grandchildren, Jason Boerger and Stephanie Schoenberger Boerger.

Tommy passed away February 5, 1976 from stroke complications.
