First purchased re-build able Ford 94 2-bbl carbs, the
exact same series as on my 6x2 setup. Shown here are 3
carbs after rebuilding and longer throttle shafts installed.
Dismantled and cleaned carb ready for rebuild kit parts.
Power valves were replaced with those made for lower
manifold vacuum levels produced by longer duration cams.
(Didn't know/do this as a teenager.)
Also installed longer length throttle shafts - needed
for progressive linkage kit.
The fuel log (same as my original) required sanding
w/800, 1000, 1200 and polishing; some pitting remains
makes for original look. Brass fittings were wire
brushed w/ Dremel tool.
Carbs were first cleaned in Harbor Freight media
blaster cabinet using glass bead media and then wire
brushed (inside and out) w/ Dremel tool. Cabinet
is low cost but gets the job done.
Used the following good Hotrod Magazine article as
a partial guide to rebuilding the carbs.
