Fading images: Around the world countless

wire photographs are mouldering away in

newspaper archives. These few were retrieved

and, hopefully, given a new life. They are all wire

service pictures and we hope the photographers

who took them and the agencies who distributed them

will forgive us for using them here without their credits.

Their use is purely for the benefit of

people touched by the war in Rhodesia.
