    Richard J. Mabey is a published writer, noted public speaker, public relations manager, and actor. His columns and articles appear regularly in the New Jersey Independent newspaper, which is circulated in Wayne, Paterson, Lincoln Park, Montville, Little Falls, Kinnelon, and Butler. Richard is also a very talented playwright. Five of his plays have been produced, including his play Reflections that was produced Off-Broadway. Richard also has worked as an editor and copy writer for several corporate in-house newsletters. He is presently working on a novel.
   In his role as a speech writer, Richard has written well over 30 speeches for corporate executives, local politicians, and leaders of community civic organizations. His speeches have ranged from those that were of a highly technical nature, to those given on a campaign trail, to warm and humorous after-dinner talks.
     Richard was a member of Toastmasters International for over five years, where he attained the Competent Toastmasters Award and the presitigious Able Toastmasters Award.

    As a noted public speaker, Richard has given well over 250 speeches himself. These include talks given to assemblies in large corporations, speaking to well over 300 people.
     Richard has worked tirelessly to promote others to develop self-confidence, an inner belief in themselves, and to inspire others to discover their inner talents. His talks have been presented at various bookstores, including
Barnes and Noble Bookstores and Borders Bookstores. He has also presented many talks to various civic and fraternal organizations. He has been the main after-dinner speaker to well over 25 dinner engagements for various corporations and civic organizations.

    Richard takes his role as an actor very seriously. He has appeared in over 25 different plays in various Northern New Jersey theaters. Twice, he has landed roles in Off-Broadway plays. He played the lead roles in both, Mr. Smith Goes to Washinton and The Owl and the Pussycat.
     Aside from acting in theatrical plays Richard also performs a number of one-man performances. He has performed theatrical portrayals of Saint Paul, Saint Joseph, Alexander Graham Bell, and Thomas Wolfe. Richard wrote the scripts for all of these portrayals. He has performed these various one-man shows at civic dinners, church group luncheons, and church mission weekends.   
    Richard is very involved in his community. He is presently serving on the Board of Trustees for his local library board. He also is the President of the Creative Arts Circle. This is a nonprofit organization that meets monthly for discussions on various themes in the artistic and creative arts arenas. Richard is also the Public Relations Director for his community's historical commission.
     Richard is also very involved in Christian service to others. For over 15 years, serving in two different churches, Richard worked as a volunteer Youth Group Counselor. He has also taught Sunday School for many years, served as Deacon, and is presently and Elder in his church.
