Principal’s Report (Mrs. Posnanski for Mrs. Myles) * Spring Concert March 29 * Spring Break begins April 4 * Need two PTA volunteers to help with scholarships to allocate $1,700 (Noltner & Majerus) * Mrs. Olszewski 1st grade teacher on bed rest; Nikki Drew to sub * Approved for 3rd/4th grade multi-age classroom with Mrs. Stein to teach. Parent information night to be announced * Nature Center’s Earth Day Celebration April 27 * 160 4K enrolled in district. 4K from 9-11:30 and 1-3:30. Day care provided by CCC and Suburban * Family Fun Night will run along with Book Fair next year and not so close to Fun Fair * Fun Fair to remain on a Saturday * Back to School Fair August 14 – will need to mail out materials early * First Day of School August 27 President’s Report * School Board Candidate Forum March 14 – 4 candidates only 3 seats * Matt Henry Benefit – looking for PTA to donate soda, water, money, or gift basket. Treasurer’s Report * Fun Fair made $816.70 – need to pay Kim Zwiefel for hair 1st Vice President’s Report No report 2nd Vice Presidents Report Multi-cultural program “Shao Lin Boxing Methods’ Lion Dance Team” in early April, cost is $550 3rd Vice Presidents Report * Need volunteer list for Staff Appreciation Week Teacher Representative (attended by Mr. Maloney and Mrs. Dreyer) * Spaghetti Dinner benefit for Mrs. Fields (mother of 4th grader Robbie Fields) March 23. Motion to move $100 from General Fund for donation to Fields family by Lisa Schmeling. Seconded by Jerry Noltner. * Nature Center is unused resource – want to restore so students can use it. Grand re-opening for Nature Center Earth Day celebration Friday, April 27 from 1-3 pm with ribbon-cutting, local newspapers to be there. Six different sessions for students. Classes that collect the most tabs and tops will get field trip to Schlitz Audubon Nature Center. Thanks to PTA for bus money. PTA help needed at event. Tabs will be recycled. Money raised from recycling tabs will go back to Nature Center. All Kemps milk caps will be given to PTA. * Jump Rope for Heart raised more than $8,000 * Field Day May 30 Committee Reports * Book Fair – have information for next year’s committee * Snowtubing March 3 – 37 people attended, bus cost $100 * Movie Night – “Night at the Museum” on DVD end of April/early May. Will be on a Friday and free to PTA members. * Variety Show cancelled. Discussed having every two years and having students perform at both school and Variety Show so all students can see acts. If students already started preparing for this year’s show, Mrs. Myles will let them perform at a school assembly. Parent Questions/Concerns Fundarising – no Gold C or Entertainment book sales next year.
