Prof. R K. Srivastava is currently Professor, Civil Engineering Department, Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad (Deemed University). He is B. Tech (Civil Engg.), M.Tech (Soil Mechanics & Foundation Engg.) from MNNIT Allahabad and Ph. D. (Rock Mechanics) from IIT Delhi. He has published more than 200 research papers in journals and conferences in India and abroad. He has supervised more than 110 M.Tech theses and 4 Ph.D. theses. 5 Ph. D. theses are in progress. He has been recipient of Indian Geotechnical Society Medal for best paper twice. He is nominated member of TC-5 of ISSMGE for “Environmental Geotechnics” from India. He is also nominated member of Asian Task Committee ATC-17 for Waste Management. He is currently nominated member of the Indian National Committee on Geotechnical Engineering by Ministry of Water Resources, Govt. of India. His current research interests are in the area of contaminated soil problems, Geoenvironment, GIS & Remote Sensing Applications and Disaster Mitigation and Management. He had an opportunity to visit UK and France under a Ministry of Urban Development training programme. He is currently member of the executive committee of Indian Geotechnical Society.
