They named this album Zooropa because Europe didn't do anything about the war in Yugoslavia, they only discussed what to do.
This album is heavy influenced by the work of the cyberpunk novelist William Gibson.
Zooropa took the listener through the kind of hellish, science-fiction scapes that Gibson describes in his novel the Spawn.
Zooropa opens with the dreamy title song Zooropa. Further there are the void of Numb, the dark world of heroine addiction in Daddy's gonna pay for your crashed car, the neurotic dancetrack Lemon, and much more.
The album ends with The wanderer, sung by Johnny Cash under "a burnt-out post-atomic sky."
