Ana Pulak directs the Greens' ticket office. She leads with looks, allure, poise, and intelligence. She doesn't say much, just smiles like da Vinci's girl. She's the one the boys all crave. She's the one, she's the one. No one comes near, no Annie White she. Approachable, impossible, graceful. Warm and remote. Anastasia, Anastasia, who are you? Why are you so beguiling in your simple white blouse, green cardigan, and red skirt? Where do you come from?
"You're a goof," replies Ana. "I come from Davenport. And I live there now. I lived in Iowa City for a few years during and after college. Then I moved back here. That was a dozen years ago. I didn't think I'd end up doing this. I was a Russian history major. But what do any of us know ten years ago of where we are now? There's no mystery in that; that's just how things are. I own two cats and a Saturn. I go goth dancing with my girlfriends on weekends. I collect Humel figurines. I'm just like everybody else, really. Stop romanticizing everything."
