The photo you see to the right is a rustic industrial table we created with a ruff cut cedar slab.  The measurements for this are quite large as we had a large space for the table.  The measurements for the table are 3" thick, 16" wide and 8 ft long.  We sanded the wood down when we got it (from a local Cedar mill in Nanaimo) and then stained it with an Espresso color stain.   After that we sealed it with a wood protector to protect against moisture.  The next step was finding pipes.  We went to Home Depot and were dissapointed with the selection of piping.  Thankfully, we have a friend in the pipe fitting business so he custom made the pipes to the appropriate sizes.  Voila!  Our table. Where I spend most of my days doing homework and creating this blog!

This is a storage system we created for our tiny laundry room.  We got the wood from Home Depot and the pipes we had made once again from our friend the pipe fitter.  The measurements will depend on the area being covered, we anchored the top piece of wood to the ceiling (climbing into the attic to do this) to ensure that we would be able to hang heavy, wet clothes from the hangers.  Depending on the size of space, it is possible to ad another shelf  to the bottom of  the second shelf.  In our case
we didn't have use for another so we left it at two.
