These are some projects I enjoy doing. I have set them aside now and then to do other work (like remodelling the house). They are stained glass stepping stones and bricks. The finished project may/will look different because of the glass selections an individual makes. I always end up spending hours just choosing my glass. Sometimes going through all that and then not liking what it looks like once I have cut the glass into the pattern pieces. Oh well, at least that doesnt happen very often. I wish I was a better photographer!! I cant get my pictures to show the "true" colors or to capture some of the glass textures. The original pattern books are done by professionals and you can tell.
I have had several people e-mail me to ask how the stones do in the elements. Well, we had a pretty strange winter here. I live in a suburb of Buffalo, NY. The weather was really unpredictable and was freezing and thawing all winter. I put my stones out without sealing them with concrete sealer. I was expecting to get them out before the winter hit but never did. I can say that it is now mid March and I checked on them last week before we got more snow and found no visible problems with them in spite of not sealing them. I might have simply been lucky and will not put any more out without sealing.
