Reb Shlomo Said that ...

"Do you know what King David is all about? Why King David keeps us alive?
Do you know what King David is all about? Shabbos is over, right. I make havdallah, Shabbos is over. Suddenly I realize, I can't forget about Shabbos. I look around gevalt, gevalt, Shabbos is standing on the other corner. And that feast is even deeper than Shabbos. Gevalt, gevalt, is that deep. Because gevalt is that deep. So King David gives us strength to keep Shabbos until next Shabbos.

You see, to keep Shabbos on Monday, on Wednesday? That's what Shabbos is all about."

Give me Harmony

Announcing the release of a new recording
of old and new songs of

R' Shlomo Carlebach ZTz"L

by Ben Zion Solomon and Sons:
Noach, Yehudah, Meir, Yosef,
Chanan, Nachman and Sruli.

These are almost all songs that do not appear on any commercial recordings to date. Most of them were published in Ben Zion's "Shlomo Shabbos" songbook. They date from 1961 - 1992. The title aptly describes the vocal/harmonic approach to R' Shlomo's music that permeates this recording.

Joining the Solomon family are:

  • Elyon Shames on Drums

  • Duvid Swirsky on Bass,

  • the children of Modi'im on hand clapping;

  • and of course, R' Shlomo ZTz"L in spirit.
