On the 29th day of February 1860, Henry Crowder, 16, single, born Kanawha County, s/o Peter and Margaret Crowder, occupation, farmer, location, Campbells Creek, married Mary Belcher, 20, single, born Russell County, Virginia, d/o George and Sally Belcher. Married by L.D. Hill.
Listed in the 1880 Kanawha County, West Virginia, United States Census as being a farmer, and residing with his wife Martha, 26; Peter, age 17, farm laborer; Mary, age 14; George W., age 12; Martha, age 10; James, age 9; Marion (son), age 5; Lucy, age 3; Henry Mc., age 2. The 1880 census also indicates that Henry's father was born in Virginia, and his mother was born in West Virginia. All of Henry and Martha's children were born in West Virginia.
