I am looking for any information on the following family. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Generation No. 1


1. MARY MARGARET1 GRASS was born Abt. 1816, and died 04 March 1883. She married PETER A. CROWDER 31 December 1831 in Fayette County, Virginia, son of JAMES CROWDER and ELIZABETH. He was born Abt. 1810 in Virginia, and died 04 March 1873 in Campbell's Creek, Kanawha County, West Virginia.

Death date of 4 March 1883, exactly 1 year after her husbands death is what was listed on transcript but it has not been verified as of yet.

Notes for PETER A. CROWDER:

"Fayette County, West Virginia History", by J.T. Peters, shows on page 757 where Peter and Margaret were married 31 December 1831 by Ed Huges.

In the 1860 United States Census, Peter owned 2,000 acres.

Peter's body was interred in Winfree Cemetary, Cinco, West Virginia. Peter and Margaret's tombstones are shaped like caskets.
