Willie Lawson

Willie Jasper Lawson, 75, of Narrows, Va., died Saturday evening in a Pearisburg, Va., hospital after a long illness. Born in Pearisburg, he was the son of the late Sam S. and Brucy[sic] Linkous Lawson. He had been a lifelong resident of Giles County and was a retired employee of the Celanese Fibers Company at Narrows. He was a member and trustee of the Twin State Radio Associatioon, Inc. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Perkins Lawson; four sons, Jay Lawson, Paul Lawson, both of Narrows, Bucky Lawson of Radford and Ralph Lawson of Richmond, Va., three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn L. Ratcliffe, Mrs. Faye L. Dunford, and Mrs. Delores Johnston, all of Narrows; three brothers, Ernest E. Lawson, Robert S. Lawson, both of Narrows, Mason Lawson of Covington, Ky.; five sisters, Mrs. Carrie Hill of Pasedena, Md., Mrs. Mildred Dunn of Peterstown and Mrs. Bertha Rice of Pembroke, VA; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2p.m. at Rife's Funeral Home at Narrows with Rev. Joe Burton officiating. Burial will follow in the Angel's Rest Memorial Gardens at Narrows. Friends may call at the funeral home, where the family will recieve friends from 7 to 9p.m. today.
