| Higarashi Kagome lives in temple that has been in her family for years with her mother, grandfather, and little brother Souta. (And her very obese cat, Buyo) Her life is average- school, friends, and preparing for high school exams. But her world is suddenly very different as she gets dragged into an old well on at her temple called the Bone-Eater's Well by a ugly youkai called Mistress Centipede. The youkai grabs on, stating the she has finally found the Shikon no Tama (Jewel of Four Souls). Kagome escapes her assailant by using some strange power only to find herself transported by the well to ancient Japan, about 500 years into the past. |

| Wandering into the strange forest in this strange land and time, Kagome comes across a strange boy attached to a tree by growing limbs and an old, lone arrow. The strange boy has long silver hair and what even more strange-fuzzy dog ears. She is captured by the locals for messing around with the boy, afraid that he had been freed. They call him Inuyasha and are afraid of him. The priestess of the village, and old hag of a lday named Keade, comes to believe that Kagome is the reincarnation of her sister, Kikyo, who perished 50 years ago, soon after she sealed Inuyasha to the tree with her arrow. |
