Christopher Swank of the U.S. Navy Explosives and Ordnance Disposal Team checks
the estimated 500 lbs. of live World War II ordnance a few minutes before
their detonation on Saturday at the Laderan Laguun cliff line south of the
Marpi landfill project. The Navy detonated over 800 pieces of munitions that
included projectiles, rocket launchers, grenades, mortars and a 300-lb. depth
