Saval is the art name of Valentino Sani. I have started to make art in 1984 after a serious car crash in which I have risked to lose my life. That event changed my life completely. I got in touch with Mail art network at first (summer 1984), and continued to study art and refine my skills and knowledge in the following years. In 1996, after moving in Czech republic, I started to sell my digital illustrations and photo to publishers.

In year 2001, I decided to return to 'paper and glue' collage and to develop again my artistic sensibility, free from limitations. In 2002 I developed some new ideas into mixed media collages and started to be involved in ATC exchanges. I returned also in the Mail art network and my intention is to make more collage artworks, also in digital.

I took part in numerous collective International exhibitions of mail art (during the 1984-1992 period) and some of my postcards and ATC are also shown in Art-e zine website and Ceris Arte an italian web-archive of mailartist. This year I took part in the 7th edition of Bakers dozen project, an international collage exhibition-exchange (held in New Zealand) with also an online exhibit and selling event.

Saval is born in Milan, Italy 16 July 1961, and live now in the Czech republic, with his wife Jitka (a writer) and Bodie, a Golden retriever.
