Homemade Bisquick

I
was sent these recipes by two different people with both swearing it
was an exact copy of the original. Both work well, so the choice of which one you'll use is up to you.
Recipe 1:
6 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons baking powder
1 tablespoon salt
1 cup vegetable shortening
Directions:
1) Sift flour, baking powder and salt three times into a large bowl.
2) Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
3) Store mixture in airtight container in the refrigerator up to 4 months.
4) Use whenever your recipe calls for "Bisquick mix".
5) Bake in cast iron skillet for nice golden biscuits with crispy bottoms.
Once you have tried this recipe you will never buy the boxed mix again!
Recipe 2:
2 cups flour
¼ cup shortening
1 tsp salt
2 tablespoons baking powder
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and beat with mixer on low until it
is the consistency of Bisquick. Use in any recipe where you would use
regular Bisquick.
