This recipe is one of my Mom's. She made it every year while we were growing up and now we make it every Christmas in her memory.

Ingredients:

1 14 ounce can evaporated milk
1/3 clear corn syrup
1/4 pound butter
5 cups sugar
1 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup pecans

Directions:

Melt butter, milk and syrup together over low heat. Add sugar, 1 cup at a time, letting boil after each cup of sugar is added.

Boil to 232 degrees, stirring constantly and let cool to 150 degrees.

Beat with electric mixer until thick and light.

Add vanilla and pecans if desired.

For best results, the fudge needs to age 2-3 days before cutting.
