10 QUESTIONS TO ASK WHEN CHOOSING A KARATE CLUB
1. Will karate make my child aggressive? No.  At Teamforce Martial Arts, we teach students self-control and how to avoid conflict.  As the students learn how to control their bodies, they learn to control their minds as well.
2. Is your club and karate style a part of an international karate organization? Yes.  Tang Soo Do is an internationally recognized karate style and Teamforce is a member of the MuSa Moo Duk Kwan Tang Soo Do Federation.  As a member of this organization, students can continue to advance even if they move out of the area.
3.  How long has your club been in the area? Teamforce, formally know as Kim's Karate, the oldest club in the area, has been in Flint since the 1970's and has a solid reputation in the community.
4.  What degree black belt does your main instructor have and how much class time do students receive with him? Unlike most clubs, our main instructor is a karate master.  Master Gary Brown is a fifth degree black belt and personally trains the students for most classes.  The other instructors hold at least a second degree black belt position and are in good standing with the MuSa Organization.
5. Do students ever receive instruction from the Grandmaster of your organization? Yes, Teamforce receives seminars and regular visits from our organization's grandmaster, Greg Boliard.  Grandmaster Boliard is one of only a few active eighth Dans in the country.  He personally tests and awards students their black belts in a ceremony in Canton, MI.
6. Do your students receive training in other karate styles? Unlike most traditional clubs, the MuSa Organization has a balance of the traditional teaching of forms, sparring and weapons, while at the same time introducing skills from other styles through regular class time and special seminars.
7.  How long does it take to get a black belt? Depending on the maturity and dedication of the student, it takes approximately two to four years to earn a black belt at Teamforce Martial Arts.
8.  Why do some clubs have so many belt colors? Teamforce has the original, traditional number of belts require before a student can earn a black belt.  Some clubs in later years have added more belts as a marketing tool in order to earn more money from the student.
9. If I have a black belt in another organization, do I have to start all over? Unlike most grandmasters and clubs, Grandmaster Boliard and Teamforce Martial Arts recognize the work that goes into earning a black belt, and will work with the individual in this situation.
10. How are your rates compared with other clubs in the area? Teamforce is by for the least expensive club in the area.  Master Brown stongly believes in giving back to the community and he and his staff work on a volunteer basis making karate an affordable activity for all

If you have any other questions about Martial Arts or our organization feel free to contact Master Brown or anyone of the staff at Teamforce and they will be happy to answer them for you.
