About Me
I've been sewing since I was 14, but I've loved making costumes all my life! Historical costumes and reproductions have been a passion for the last eight years, and since I began working with a friend's company,
Kaufmann's Emporium,
my knowledge has grown by leaps and bounds! I also costume with the
Bristol Renaissance Faire,
and am a member of the Guilde of St. George, in the court of Queen Elizabeth I. I'm about to get back into my first love, however: Musical Theatre! Wish me luck, and maybe you'll see
me in Wicked someday . . .
My sister and I in our Civil War ballgowns; mine is a repro of a dress at the Kyoto Institute.
Here I am in this year's Halloween costume; I've wanted to make a Natural Form gown for so long!
There's no place like home . . .
Aren't the 1930's fabulous?
My "Stagecoach Dress" a repro of an original garment. My sister is dressed by Kaufmann's!
My first late-victorian dress, for Christmas 2004.
Guilde of St. George, 2003-2005; my sister is portraying Judith North, and I am Helena von Snakenborg, maid of honor. My dress is based on a period portrait.
Baroness Chandos, 2005-present
My sister wears a beautiful sheer plaid from Kaufmann's
My first sheer Civil War dress, in a windowpane check white cotton.
My idea of what Lord Voldemort might look like in 2004; yes, that's really me under that makeup!
Zhaan from Farscape; one of my favorite makeup jobs! I actually got to meet the actress who played her on the show and she was delighted!
As you can see, my costumes are not always historical! Here I am as the Emperor Palpatine in 2005. Go 501st!
