POINTS TO PONDER

COMMUNISM IS NOTHING MORE THAN SOCIALISM AT THE
POINT OF A GUN

AN EDUCATED ELECTORATE IS THE CORNERSTONE OF ANY DEMOCRACY

THE CONSTITUTION IS NOT A SUICIDE PACT

HISTORY IS MOST OFTEN SHAPED BY THE MANY UNNOTICED ACTS OF THE FEW

FREEDOM IS RELATIVE-SERVITUDE IS ABSOLUTE

TRUTH FREES OUR SPIRIT-DECEIT IMPRISONS OUR SOUL

BAD CULTURE DRIVES OUT GOOD

POLITICS IS THE BAIN OF LIBERTY AND THE ACHILLIES HEEL OF DEMOCRACY BUT IS THE GUARANTOR OF OUR FREEDOM

THE TRUTH IS HERE

The Presidency is more than a mere man or institution--it is an ideal, a pathfinder towards human decency and goodness to which all men can aspire to. Something to consider today and tomorrow as we enter Clinton's second term.
Why are the words 'partisan' and 'partisanship' such "dirty" words in American politics today? Nowhere else in the world are these two words so reviled. The British absolutely revel in 'partisanship'! To not delight in 'partisan' politicking is to extoll totalitarianism. Why, then, are these two words so maligned here? Could it have anything to do with the Republicans controlling the Congress? Or is it that we as a people no longer care about our National identity and heritage? Something to consider.
Kinky, perverted, distorted and anti-social behavior has abandoned the margins of our society and culture and is conquering the mainstream and abcessing our culture with tales and exhibitions of cross-dressing, homosexuality, incest, sodomy, child abuse, female degredation, humiliation and necrophilia. The line between what was acceptable and what was intolerable, between "art" and pornography has been obliterated. Yesterday's sleaze purveyor, porn king and pimp is today's cultural icon and "hero". This, regretably, is called cultural rot; and sadly, there is no end in sight. Something to think about as we watch our children grow.
In today's lexicon, you can bet that the spoken word "frankly" is a leading indicator of deceit, dishonesty and insincerity, not to mention evasion and denial. Consider that the next time you hear it.
To live a moral life--to do what is right, to do what is good, to do what is morally correct--to follow the rules, is difficult. To do what is wrong, to do what is immoral, to act with indifference, is easy--evil has no rules, no laws, no conscience. This is the weakness of our human condition and the fragility of the human spirit. Thus the struggle between good and evil, between right and wrong, between the moral and the immoral continues to overwhelm us. Think about this the next time you read a newspaper, watch television, see a movie or talk to your children.
