Hi I found your location, quite by accident, while searching for realtors with land for sale in southwest Wi. Garys'paternal great-grandfather was a Bolstad. He was Elias Bolstad 1867-1943. He was married 11-10-1893, in Luster Norway, to Anna Marie Eide 1865-1936. She was born to Hans and Anna J. Yttri Eide 12-22-1865. They immigrated from Norway to Wisconsin in 1896. They settled on a farm on Stump Ridge in Franklin Township, Crawford County, WI. THe farm was purchased from Albert Morkri. Last fall Gary and I went to several cemetaries in that area. We took photos of many headstones. Since doing more research this Winter, we plan to return to the cemetaries when the warm weather returns. Will stay in touch. Enjoyed your site. Karen

We have evidence for several generations of Bolstads in Bergen during the 1800s. I believe the general names are Daniel & Hans. My grandfather was Hans Daniel, leaving about 1900 from Bergen. I assume since there is a Bolstad farm that that is where the name comes from -- although I have been shown a Bolstad Fjord (Lake?) also. Appreciate any hints, etc you may have. Oh look up the Sogne Fjord emmigrantion section on the web!

Family name originally spelled BOLSTEAD. My Father's birth certificate was filled out in error. The E was dropped. He found out later in life. Had no resources to get it legally changed back. Have you come accross any BOLSTEAD's in your searchs? My Grandfather was LARS LEVIN BOSLTEAD Don Bolstad

Common Ancestor?: Iverson/Wold/Lund

Comments:
Hi Stephi, I took a closer look at your new Wold family material and check the Bergen 1801 census for the Kallakot. It was Kallekod in the census of Stavanger, Schiold parish, and there was a Anne Siversdtr, widow (Ole Halvorsen) of 58 years old. Anne Sivertsdtr. as a son ,Thor Olsen, who is 22 and unmarried. Thor Olsen will in the future marry Ragnild Andersdtr(1791-1864) according to your new information. They are the parents of Andrew Satter(1813-1848) who is the parent of Engeborg Satter Wold(1847-1927). Is T or Olsen the person call " the Younger"? Have a terrific day, you got me pondering! warmest regards,Jim

Hi Stephi: Congratulations on getting the Iverson Photos up! I believe Jim is planning to send some more photos and information on the Lund/Wold side. I also looked at the Tollefson line and did not know we were Scottish til now. I really liked Jim's Pioneer Settlement that you scanned. Scottish salute and fare the well. Craig

Common Ancestor?: Iversons
What Country?: USA and Norway

Comments:
Hi Stephi, Just noticed your new construction guestbook and decided to check in. The Tollefsen information rom the Bergen census 1801 shows what I think is a great.....grandparent Ole Nilson/Ole Nielson Prestrud 43years old, living at farm/house-Rogne Nordre, parish of Slidre in Christian Amt. His wife is listed as Guri Erichsdtr..44years old with children To lev/Tollef Olssen(Our supposed line) Other children Erich Olsen age 1 and daughter Astri Olsdtr, age 10. First wife Ingeborg Knudsdtr Berge who is list dates (1758-1794) which leads to the king could be the mother of Tollev, but not listed in 1801 for she died befo e the census was taken. Are these your conclusions? or should we look for another Ole Nielsen? Looking good on you new HOMEPAGE editions. Warmest regards, Jim
